Working between text and textile, giang nguyễn-nguyễn makes gestural embroideries on canvas piecework in relation to Southeast Asian talismans, blueprints, comics, and graffiti. Micro-cyclical handsewing techniques register the simultaneous accumulation and erosion of significance through repetition, framing familiarity and foreignness as a binocularity rather than binary. Influenced by Spiralism and Arte Precario, n-n draws from the morphologies of language and camouflage, translating memory through refraction, relativity, and pattern.
